Project overview

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts offer luxurious stays across their collection of 30 hotel locations, situated throughout the UK and Spain. In addition to overnight stays, people visit the hotels to make use of the various facilities such as golf courses, spas, health centres, and conference rooms. Noting the rising number of EV drivers visiting the hotels, the group sought to improve the overall guest experience and reduce their CO2 emissions by providing EV charging facilities on-site, an amenity that has quickly become essential for hotels.

EVC partnered with Macdonald Hotels & Resorts to roll out a mixture of fast (AC) and rapid (DC) EV chargers across the group’s portfolio, providing guests and other customers with convenient EV charging throughout their stay. The partnership will see around 400 charge points added to the EV charging network nationwide, future proofing the hotels for years to come at zero cost to the group. As part of this solution, EVC covers the ongoing operational costs of the chargers, providing 24/7 customer support - allowing the hotels to focus on their day-to-day operations.

The provision of EV charging greatly enhances the offerings at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, differentiating their portfolio from competitors and highlighting their commitment to a greener future.
